CASE STUDY
A mid-size pharma company was facing challenges with developing their Dossier document submissions for multiple markets. The regulatory organization maintained a submission plan in MS Project, but it was not easy to share its contents with Dossier team members or organizational leadership. The lack of visibility into the plan impeded document preparation, as it made it difficult for Dossier team members to plan their work. Further, all status updates to leadership had to be created manually, which were time-consuming to develop, error– prone, and could not provide real-time information.
The client was looking for a technology partner specializing in life sciences to digitally transform the whole Dossier tracking and monitoring process and make it less time consuming and more efficient.
After carefully analyzing the situation, our experts decided to take a customized approach using digital ppm tools. The client was already using O365 with Project Online, leveraging this, our team advised a plan to use their existing Microsoft Project Online application to digitally transform the Dossier document management. This gave the client the advantage of digital PPM tools with no additional licensing fee.
Our project management experts first identified the steps involved in the life cycle of each document, they then chalked out the structure of the submission plan along with roles and responsibilities at each stage. This helped in efficient tracking of each document throughout its journey.
To ease report generation, i2e experts connected the submission plans stored in Microsoft Project Online plans to Power BI. Our data visualization experts then collaborated with the project managers and the decision makers to understand what type of reports are needed and at what frequency. Once the requirements are clear, the i2e experts collaborated with the client to add some metadata to their existing Dossier plan to support the generation of the reports. Then i2e created customized dashboard templates within Power BI and set up an automated report generation from Project Online to Power BI.
